Build Mobile Games with Unreal Engine

Twelve-month program launching September 2025 in Košice

We're putting together a comprehensive course that takes you from basics to shipping your first mobile title. No background required—just curiosity and commitment to show up each week.

What You'll Actually Learn

Over twelve months, you'll work through eight focused modules. Each one builds on the last, taking you from basic concepts to hands-on mobile game development.

The final three months are all about your portfolio project—a real game you'll design, build, and polish with guidance from our team.

01

Getting Started with Unreal

Weeks 1-6

Interface navigation, basic project setup, understanding the editor. We'll spend time making sure everyone's comfortable before moving forward.

02

Blueprint Fundamentals

Weeks 7-12

Visual scripting that powers game logic. You'll build simple interactive systems and start understanding how games actually work under the hood.

03

Mobile Optimization Basics

Weeks 13-18

Performance matters on mobile. Learn how to keep your games running smoothly on different devices without sacrificing visual quality.

04

Touch Controls and UI

Weeks 19-24

Design interfaces that feel natural on touchscreens. Create responsive controls that players can actually use without frustration.

05

3D Assets and Animation

Weeks 25-30

Working with imported models, basic rigging, and animation sequences. You won't become a 3D artist, but you'll know enough to integrate assets properly.

06

Game Mechanics Design

Weeks 31-36

What makes games engaging? Study proven mechanics, prototype your own systems, and learn through iteration and testing.

07

Publishing Pipeline

Weeks 37-40

Preparing builds for app stores, understanding submission requirements, dealing with certificates and provisioning profiles—the practical stuff that's rarely taught.

08

Capstone Project

Weeks 41-52

Three months to build your own mobile game. We'll provide feedback and guidance, but this is your project to design, develop, and finish.

Who's Teaching This

Both instructors have worked on commercial mobile titles and know what it takes to finish projects that people actually want to play.

Dominik Novotny teaching mobile game development

Dominik Novotny

Lead Instructor

Spent six years building mobile games for Android and iOS. Shipped eleven titles, three of which actually made decent download numbers. Now focuses on teaching instead of chasing the next hit.

Petra Holubova providing technical guidance

Petra Holubova

Technical Mentor

Works as a mobile developer during the day, mentors in the evenings. Has a knack for explaining optimization techniques without making your eyes glaze over. Previously taught at two coding bootcamps.

Classes meet twice weekly in central Košice. We're keeping groups small so everyone gets individual attention when they hit roadblocks.

Schedule and Commitment

We meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00, starting September 2nd, 2025. That's six hours per week in class, plus you should plan for another four to six hours of practice on your own.

Expect about ten hours weekly total. Less at the beginning, more during the final project phase. We'll provide workspace access on weekends if you want somewhere quiet to code.

  • Evening sessions accommodate work schedules
  • Recorded classes available if you miss a session
  • Weekend lab access for extra practice time
  • Monthly one-on-one progress reviews

What You'll Need

Bring your own Windows laptop with at least 16GB RAM and dedicated graphics. Unreal Engine needs decent hardware. We'll send full specifications after you register.

You'll also need an Android phone or tablet for testing. iOS development requires a Mac, which most students don't have—we'll cover cross-platform considerations but focus primarily on Android builds.
